The Lumen range of conservation rooflights are also available as an escape version that incorporate gas struts for assisted opening. This option is available on all of our top hung stock sizes and the Lumen Extra Light subject to manufacturing tolerances.
Lumen Escape Light rooflights are supplied with glazing that incorporates a 4mm toughened safety outer leaf with ‘Pilkington Activ’ self-clean, a 16mm argon gas filled cavity and a 4mm inner leaf of Low E toughened. The rooflights are also supplied with an anthracite Valchromat timber interior liner and a brass winding mechanism for everyday opening. The gas struts are for full supported opening of the rooflight for emergency use and are not designed for continuous and regular full opening on a daily basis. It is very important that the user is familiar with the quick release clip located on the opening mechanism to allow immediate escape in the event of a fire.
